Michael and his wife Carol grew up in Williamsville, NY. They were married in 1969, during his time at Houghton College, where he earned his BA, followed by time at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary for his MTS (Theology) and THM (New Testament). He went on to receive his Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary.
Michael served as Senior Pastor here at Westminster Presbyterian Church, from 1994 through 2019. The Rogers continue to make Westminster their home church in retirement. As Pastor Emeritus, Dr. Rogers preaches, teaches, and conducts services as invited by the Westminster Session. He is author of Baptism and the Covenant of Grace and What Happens After I Die? (Crossway Books).
Michael and Carol have four children and 15 grandchildren who all live locally.
Dr. Rogers considers his life Scripture passage to be Psalm 73:25,26, “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
